The Why...

Meshaun's Story

On November 7, 2022, at just 12 years old, Meshaun’s life changed forever when he was diagnosed with Stage 3 spindle cell sclerosing Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma, an extremely rare and aggressive pediatric cancer.

But Meshaun’s case was even more unique. His cancer carried a rare combination of genetic mutations including a MYOD1 mutation, VGLL2 fusion, and single copy loss of TP53, making Meshaun what doctors called 1 in 8 billion. His combination of mutations was so rare there had never been another documented case like his anywhere in the world, leaving doctors without a clear prognosis for what his battle would look like.

What followed was a war no child should ever have to fight. Meshaun endured multiple surgeries, 42 weeks of intensive chemotherapy, and 33½ rounds of proton radiation. Through every painful treatment, every hospital stay, and every setback, he continued to fight with courage, strength, and a BIG heart.

On January 17, 2024, after over a year of battle, Meshaun was declared in remission.

But the fight was not over.

On February 26, 2026, after 25 months cancer free, Meshaun relapsed with metastasis to both lungs, forcing him back onto the battlefield once again.

And yet… he still stands. Still smiling. Still fighting. Still choosing to SpreadJoyBeMighty.

While battling for his own life, Meshaun made it his mission to help other children facing pediatric cancer. What started with one simple idea, providing port accessible chemo shirts to help kids preserve dignity during treatment, became something far greater.

Today, MightyMeshaun is more than an organization. It is a movement built on courage, compassion, resilience, and hope. Through MightyChemo Shirts, MightyBags, gift cards, and community support, we stand beside pediatric cancer warriors and their families during the hardest battles of their lives. Our mission is to remind every child fighting cancer that they are not weak, forgotten, or alone…They’re MIGHTY!

Meshaun’s story is not just about cancer.
